Equips your teacher leaders, department leads and coaches in the foundational skillful and intentional approach to team leadership. Educators leave with: *A research-based framework for leading teams applied to their work *Essential understandings of adult learners, group dynamics and the ups and downs of being a peer leader. *A heightened awareness of who they are as leaders and how to respond skillfully to common hurdles. * Primary Intentions for leading teams that want to impact teaching and learning. Note: This course is a pre-requisite for any other combination of courses. 6-hours (each). Team leaders deep-dive into one of the following Primary Intention with essential field-tested moves grounded in research: Optimize learning conditions; Establish expectations and responsibilities; Nurture community and trust; Design and plan purposeful learning; Engage and interact; Lead with purpose and direction; Promote Intentional Data Use; Engage in analytical and creative problem solving; Implement new learning and peer observations; Assess function and impact team indicators. Four 1.5 hr sessions. Deep dive into any of the micro-intentions listed in Intentional Moves Table of Contents. E.g., Strengthen vulnerability-based trust; manage conflict; suspend assumptions; navigate resistance. 6 hours: Team leaders explore the 5 tenets of a skillful approach: Collaboration, Shared leadership, Goals, Rigorous discourse and Continuous improvement & learn how to respond proactively, in-the-moment & post meeting to their own hurdles. 36-hour Signature Course: Essential course for new teacher leaders to launch their teams and emerge as skillful, intentional team leaders. Grad credit available for additional fee to Worcester State University.
