Words of Wisdom for 2025

A new year's resource for you…

Throughout this past year, school team leaders have shared with me stand-out lines from my bestseller Intentional Moves.

I've made the Top 5 into free pdf slides that you can download from my website. Add any slide to a presentation for your staff or team!

And feel free to email me your own leadership words of wisdom for 2025!

I'll share them in a post or blog!

#1 When you analyze test data together, adopt this mindset:

#2 Avoid unproductive conflict this year by advocating for your position with humility…

#3  Momentum works in favor of majority-supported ideas, but make your new year's resolution to give airtime to the less popular (minority) viewpoints.

#4  Judith Warren Little studied group conversations and discovered that it’s not uncommon for teachers on a team to ignore assumptions made by others or deflect them with humor. This year create a safe environment where it's expected to encourage people to say more about their beliefs and practice.

#5  Research shows that desire, intent, perceptions of worthiness, perceptions of control, and feelings about decision making affect people’s success rate in reaching a goal. But what do you do when your team's heart is not in it?

And finally, every new year the NY Times puts out “The Best Advice” and I love the simplicity of this one…

“Even one step a day gets you 365 steps farther in a year.”

~ Andie Daniels, Charlottesville, VA.

Wishing you the best intentional learning year yet!

~Elisa

I've helped many district, school and teacher leaders facilitate collaboration that impacts teacher practice and student learning. I'd love to connect to see how I can best support you!
